जनता दल ने स्पष्ट किया है कि वह वक्फ (संशोधन) विधेयक पर एनडीए सरकार का समर्थन करेगा.लोकसभा बुधवार को विवादास्पद वक्फ (संशोधन) विधेयक पर चर्चा और पारित कराने के लिए विचार करेगी, जिससे नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार और विपक्ष के इंडिया ब्लॉक के बीच टकराव की स्थिति बन जाएगी। इससे पहले आज अल्पसंख्यक और संसदीय मामलों के मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि लोकसभा की कार्य मंत्रणा समिति (बीएसी), जिसमें सभी प्रमुख दलों के नेता शामिल हैं और जिसकी अध्यक्षता अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला कर रहे हैं, आठ घंटे की बहस पर सहमत हो गई हैबैठक के दौरान कांग्रेस और कई अन्य विपक्षी भारतीय ब्लॉक सदस्यों ने सरकार पर उनकी आवाज दबाने का आरोप लगाते हुए सदन से वॉकआउट कर दिया।
लोकसभा में कांग्रेस के उपनेता गौरव गोगोई ने आरोप लगाया कि उनकी आवाज को नजरअंदाज किया जा रहा है और कहा कि विपक्षी दल बहस के लिए और समय चाहते हैं और सदन मणिपुर की स्थिति और मतदाताओं के फोटो पहचान पत्र पर विवाद सहित अन्य मुद्दों पर चर्चा करना चाहता है, पीटीआई के अनुसार।इस पर रिजिजू ने कहा कि कई दल चार से छह घंटे की बहस चाहते हैं, जबकि विपक्षी दल 12 घंटे की मांग कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर सदन को लगता है कि आठ घंटे की आवंटित अवधि को बढ़ाया जा सकता है तो उस दिन ऐसा किया जा सकता है।
