उत्तर प्रदेश के कानपुर के चमनगंज इलाके में एक पांच मंजिला इमारत में लगी भीषण आग में 45 वर्षीय व्यक्ति और उसकी पत्नी की मौत हो गई, पुलिस ने सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी। आग की भयावहता के कारण, अधिकारियों को यह भी आशंका है कि इस घटना में दंपति की तीन बेटियों की भी मौत हो गई होगी।
प्रेम नगर इलाके में स्थित पूरी इमारत में भीषण आग लग गई। उन्होंने बताया कि पांच मंजिला इमारत की पहली और दूसरी मंजिल पर जूता बनाने की फैक्ट्री है। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मोहम्मद दानिश और उनकी पत्नी नाजनीन सबा (42) के शव इमारत की चौथी मंजिल से बरामद किए गए। दंपति की तीन बेटियों – सारा (15), सिमरा (12) और इनाया (7) के भी मारे जाने की आशंका है।
आग लगने से घरेलू एलपीजी सिलेंडरों में विस्फोट हो गया उन्होंने बताया कि दमकलकर्मियों को चौथी मंजिल तक पहुंचने में घंटों लग गए, जहां दंपति के शव मिले। पुलिस के अनुसार, पड़ोसियों ने रविवार रात को इमारत से भीषण आग और घना धुआं निकलते देखा और दमकल केंद्र और पुलिस को सूचना दी।
सहायक पुलिस आयुक्त (सीसमऊ) मंजय सिंह ने बताया कि आग लगने के कारणों का पता लगाने के लिए जांच शुरू कर दी गई है। एसीपी ने कहा, “हालांकि सटीक कारण अभी भी स्पष्ट नहीं है, लेकिन शुरुआती संदेह शॉर्ट सर्किट या आंतरिक वायरिंग में खराबी की ओर इशारा करते हैं, जो संभवतः उस मंजिल से उत्पन्न हुई है जहां जूता फैक्ट्री चल रही थी।
