मुठभेड़ स्थल से एसटीएफ ने बड़ी मात्रा में हथियार और कारतूस बरामद किए। जिसमें 30 एमएम बरेटा पिस्टल (शुरुआती कीमत 85 हजार रुपये), 32 एमएम ऑर्डिनेंस रिवाल्वर, 9 एमएम देसी पिस्टल, बिना नंबर की मेटेलिक कलर की ब्रेजा कार, 7 जि़ंदा कारतूस (9 एमएम), 10 जिंदा, कारतूस (32 एमएम), 46 जिंदा कारतूस (30 एमएम), 6 खोखा कारतूस (32 एमएम) थे।
शाहरुख पर लूट, हत्या और गैंगस्टर एक्ट के 12 से अधिक गंभीर मामले दर्ज थे। करीब डेढ़ साल से वह फरार चल रहा था। शाहरुख सुपारी लेकर हत्या करने से लेकर अन्य संघीन वारदातों को अंजाम देता था। वह मुख्तार अंसारी और संजीव जीवा गैंग का सदस्य था।

शाहरुख के एनकाउंटर की खबर आते ही उसके घर के पास लोगों की भीड़ लग गई। लोगों ने बताया कि 65 साल के आमिर आजम ने शाहरुख को गोद लिया था। जुर्म की दुनिया में आने से पहले वो उनके साथ मिलकर साइकिल पंक्चर की दुकान चलाता था। इसके बाद वह चोरी करने लगा। कई चोरियों के बाद भी जब पुलिस उसे गिरफ्तार नहीं कर सकी ,तो उसने बड़ी वारदातों को अंजाम देना शुरू कर दिया। इस तरह वह संजीव जीवा गैंग की नजर में आया और फिर उसी गैंग के लिए काम करने लगा।

पहली बार 2015 में शाहरुख का नाम क्राइम की दुनिया में चर्चा में आया। बिजनौर जेल से पेशी पर आए बंदी आसिफ जाहिदा को मुजफ्फरनगर रेलवे स्टेशन पर पुलिस के सामने ही गोलियों से भून दिया था। इसके बाद शाहरुख कोर्ट में पेश होकर जेल चला गया था और पुलिस की कस्टडी से फरार हो गया था।

शाहरुख ने फरार होने के बाद 2017 में हरिद्वार में कंबल व्यापारी गोल्डी की हत्या कर दी थी। उसी साल उसने आसिफ जायदा मर्डर केस में गवाह रहे आसिफ के पिता की भी हत्या कर दी। इस वारदात के बाद उस पर 50 हजार का इनाम घोषित किया गया था बाद में गिरफ्तार होकर वह जेल गया और गोल्डी मर्डर केस में उम्रकैद की सजा हो गई। करीब छह महीने पहले शाहरुख जमानत पर जेल से बाहर आया और फिर से गवाहों को धमकाने और हत्या की कोशिशों में जुट गया था।
